Monoaxial Fixation Systems – Monolateral Dynamic Fixator
Monolateral Dynamic External Fixators are medical devices used to stabilize and correct bone deformities or fractures. They consist of pins or wires inserted into the bone, which are then connected to an external frame on one side of the limb. This setup allows for precise adjustments and controlled movement of the bone segments.
These fixators are particularly useful for:
- Fracture stabilization: They help keep broken bones in the correct position during healing.
- Deformity correction: They can gradually adjust bone alignment to correct deformities.
- Limb lengthening: They can be used to lengthen bones by slowly separating the bone segments. They allow new bone to form in the gap.
Orthofix Type External Fixator System
Monoaxial Fixation Systems, also known as Orthofix Type fixators, are preferred by orthopedic surgeons all over the world. They are widely used because they are ready-to-use, practical and robust.
Monolateral external fixators are produced in 3 different sizes suitable for tibia, femur and humerus.
Each of the products is presented as ready to be sterilized and ready to use. Contains 6 Schanz screws and allen key. The body of all Schanz screws fixed by the fixator clamp and designed as 6 mm.
The threaded part of the Schanz screws are:
For the Femur, it is 6 mm in diameter and 200 mm in length.
Tibia; it is 5 mm in diameter and 180 mm in length.
Humerus; it is 4 mm in diameter and 150 mm in length.
